Bishop Walsh whips Hancock, 15-8

CUMBERLAND - Bishop Walsh busted open a 8-8 tie by scoring seven times in the fifth inning and the Spartans won for just the second time this season over Hancock.

Both teams were busy early with Hancock taking a 5-4 lead after two innings, and BW tied the score at seven with a run in the fourth. The Spartans then got five hits and four walks from Hancock pitching to help them score seven times in the fifth.

Anne Mathews and Chloe Detrick had a double and a single for Bishop Walsh. Taylor Butts was on base five times with a pair of singles and three walks.

The Panthers issued a total of 10 free passes.

Rochelle Wolford pitched a complete game and finished with seven strikeouts to earn the win.

BW (2-6) will play today at Frankfort.
