Southern beats Petersburg 10-6

Brittany Boyce belted a two-run homer in a six-run seventh inning that lifted Southern past Petersburg.

Down 6-4 through six innings, the the Rams erupted for six runs in their final at-bat. Alyssa Dick’s two-run double tied the game 6-6, and Boyce followed with her home run that put the Rams ahead.

Shayna Sweitzer and Sarah Brenneman had a pair of hits for Southern, which out-hit Petersburg 10-4.

Melodie Stolbom got the win with a complete-game four-hitter.

Southern won the jayvee game 9-5.
