Mountain Ridge beats Hampshire 9-0

Kelsey Robertson pitched a complete game shutout, allowing one hit and recording 14 strikeouts in a shutout of Hampshire.

Jenna Delaney hit a three-run home run and a single to lead the Miners. Danielle McGinnis, Keri Bean and Stephanie Harden also had two hits.

Lindsey Whetzel had Hampshire’s only hit, a single.

The Miners scored their first run in the opening inning, and added four more in the third to make it 5-0. The score jumped to 7-0 with two in the fourth and tacked on one run in the fifth and another in the sixth.

Mountain Ridge (7-3) improves to 5-2 in the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference, and will play at Southern on Tuesday.
