Mountain Ridge beats Northern 13-3

Jenna Delaney homered in a six-run fifth inning, and Mountain Ridge collected 14 hits in a six-inning win at Northern.

Delaney also had two singles, and Stephanie Harden finished with two triples. Keri Bean earned the win, and struck out six.

Ashlet Wilhelm hit a three-run triple in the fourth inning to account for Northern’s runs.

The Miners won the junior varsity game 18-2 in four innings.

Mountain Ridge, 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference, will play at Southern on Tuesday at 4:30. Northern (0-11 overall, 0-11 AMAC) plays at Fort Hill on Monday at 4:30.
