Bishop Walsh beats Hancock 10-0

Rochelle Wolford allowed only one hit and one walk and registered 10 strikeouts in just five innings in leading Bishop Walsh past Hancock.

Taylor Butts led a nine-hit Spartans attack with three doubles and three runs batted in. Anne Mathews hit a double and a single to drive in one run, and Claire Nolan had two RBIs on a double. Sarah Thomas added two singles.

Wolford allowed a first-inning triple to Ruppenthal, but kept the Panthers bats silent for the next four innings.

The Spartans, 3-3 in their last six games, are now 4-7 overall and will host the Maryland School for the Deaf on Monday at 4:30.
