No. 3 Mtn. Ridge crushes Keyser, 13-2

FROSTBURG - Kelsey Robertson tossed a three-hitter and 10 Mountain Ridge players hit safely as the Miners rolled past the Golden Tornado in an Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference game at Glendening Field.

It was the third win of the week and sixth in a row for Mountain Ridge (9-3 overall, 9-2 AMAC).

The Miners, who had 10 hits in the six-inning game, took the lead with a three-run second and were up 9-0 through four innings.

Mariah Whiteman hit a triple, Molly Cheshire doubled and Jordin Mazer singled and scored two runs for the Miners.

Robertson struck out 10 and did not walk a batter in going the distance.

Brandi Braithwaite, Kelsey Bacon and Brittani Riley singled to account for Keyser's hits.

Mountain Ridge hosts Allegany on Monday at 4 o'clock. Keyser visits Frankfort today.

On Tuesday, Mountain Ridge blanked Southern, 10-0, in a conference game at Southern.

Robertson was the winning pitcher in that game as well, allowing just one hit while striking out nine and walking one in a six-inning game.

Cheshire hit two singles and Miranda Nicol and Jenna Delaney doubled for the Miners.

Alyssa Dick had Southern's lone hit, a single in the fourth inning.
