Mountain Ridge JV whip Bishop Walsh JV, 20-3

FROSTBURG - Sophia Bambacus pitched a five-inning no-hitter, accumulating nine strikeouts as Mountain Ridge put it to Bishop Walsh Tuesday in junior varsity softball.

Amber Ravenscroft hit a home run, three singles and batted in four runs for the Miners. Heather Shipe finished with three doubles and three RBIs, Amber Catala added a double, a single and one RBI, and Tina Wilt had two singles and two RBIs. Bambacus contributed two singles, a double and an RBI to her own cause.

Cassie Winter caught a deep fly over her head in the first inning to help preserve the no-no.

Mountain Ridge (10-3) has won six in a row, and plays Allegany today at 4 p.m. at Glendening Field.
