Pulling Together

Correctional officers from North Branch Correctional Institution, who finished third, compete in the statewide Division of Correction Tug of War for the Special Olympics in Jessup.

It was the first time North Branch participated in the competition.

The team, weighing in the neighborhood of 2,000 pounds collectively, competed in the heavyweight division, finishing behind Anne Arundel County Detention Center and the winners, the 2,251-pound men from the Baltimore City Detention Center.

Each team paid $250 to participate.

North Branch Warden John Rowley accompanied the team to Jessup.
