Hooked on fishing
From Staff Reports
Cumberland Times-News
Morgan Davis, 10, of Clearville, Pa., left, places a meal worm on a hook Saturday morning during the annual Battie Mixon Fishing Rodeo at the C&O Canal National Historical Park in Oldtown, while Cameren Layton, 3, of Short Gap, W.Va., selects a prize after catching a fish. Trout, bluegills and catfish were stocked for the event, which was designated an official part of the Maryland Fishing Challenge. “Every kid who catches a fish will have his or her name put in a hat and three will be drawn to go to Sandy Point State Park later this summer for a chance to win prizes, such as a trip to fish on the bay or the Atlantic Ocean,” said rodeo organizer Mike Cornachia. Maryland Fishing Challenge shirts were handed out to participants on Saturday.
