Route 28 crash

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — At least three people were injured in a head-on crash on state Route 28 at Short Gap, W.Va., at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday.
Numerous first-responding units from Mineral and Allegany counties were dispatched to the scene, including the Maryland State Police medevac helicopter Trooper 5 and a Cumberland Fire Department Ambulance.
The incident occurred in the area of the Division of Highways garage located south of state Route 956. Initial reports indicated at least one person was trapped in the wreckage.
Further information was not available late Wednesday from the investigating agency, the Mineral County Sheriff’s Department.
