Frankfort topples BW

CUMBERLAND — Diane Dayton scored the first goal and assisted on the second two as Frankfort remained undefeated by spoiling Bishop Walsh’s season opener, beating the Spartans 3-1 in high school girls soccer Tuesday at BW.
Dayton gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead just 4:39 into the first half on an unassisted goal.
The score remained 1-0 until BW tied it 28 minutes later on an unassisted goal by Alex Breeding.
The tie was short-lived as Crystal Moreland scord on a Dayton assist 1:27 after Breeding’s goal.
Dayton picked up her third point of the afternoon when she assisted Shay Turley, who scored with 3:22 left in the opening half. Neither team scored in the second half.
Lexi Conley made 17 saves in goal for the Falcons. and Chaise Crossland had 24 for the Spartans.
Frankfort (2-0) will host Petersburg at 5:30 on Thursday.
Bishop Walsh (0-1) will play at Keyser on Thursday, at 4 p.m.
