    The finals for the Hot Stove League playoffs were set Thursday evening after strong individual pitching performances paved the way for Culver Design Build to meet with the Cresaptown Eagles in a best-of-three series that begins Monday at Hamilton Field at the Hammersmith Complex in Potomac Park.

    Trevor Moore had four hits and struck out nine to lead Culver Design over Madigan’s Auto in the first game of their semifinal best-of-three series Monday evening at the Hot Stove Complex’s Holler Field.

    Travis Milburn’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning generated the tying and winning runs as the Cresaptown Eagles came from behind to defeat Salisbury Legion 4-3 in the opening Hot Stove League semifinal best-of-three playoff game Monday at Hamilton Field.

  • Madigan’s, Salisbury advance
    Shane Peck went 4-for-4 and Madigan’s Auto rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Cork’s Cars, 8-7, Saturday at Holler Field to advance in the Hot Stove League playoffs.

  • Cork’s Cars evens series
    Cork’s Cars used a six-run fourth to ice the five-inning victory, and Ryan Bennett and Dylan Bennett combined on a one-hitter, taking Cork’s to a 10-0 win and a series tie with Madigan’s Auto in the second round of Hot Stove League playoff action Thursday at Hamilton Field.

    Top-seeded Culver Design manufactured three runs in the top of the sixth inning with the aid of an error and defeated The Wisp, 5-3, to sweep their best-of-three Hot Stove League playoff series Wednesday at Hamilton Field.

  • Culver Design rallies, beats The Wisp, 10-9
    Trailing 9-4 entering the bottom the sixth inning, Culver Design stormed back for three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to come away with a 10-9 victory over The Wisp Tuesday at Hampshire High School to take the opening game of their best-of-three Hot Stove League playoff series.

  • Madigan’s advances, 11-1
    Madigan’s Auto erupted for eight runs in the second inning to erase an early deficit and rolled past East Hardy, 11-1, to win their best-of-three opening round Hot Stove League playoff series on Saturday.

  • Shroyer powers Hobo’s to sweep
    Corey Shroyer pitched a complete-game 2-hitter, striking out 16 batters in leading Hobo’s Restaurant to a 3-0 victory over Barney’s Drywall and providing Hobo’s with a two-game sweep of their first-round Hot Stove League playoff series Thursday evening at Hamilton Field.
