Miller, Greise combine for no-hitter in debut

CRESAPTOWN - Rotary starter Kaleb Miller and relievers Nick Greise and Jeremy Knipple combined to no-hit the Kiwanis in a 5-3 season-opening win Thursday at Holler Field.

The three combined for six strikeouts and walked four, with Kiwanis scoring single runs in the first, third and sixth with the help of walks and errors. Two of the three runs scored on fielder's choice ground outs.

For Rotary/Lions, James Fairall doubled home a run and Cullin Brown had two singles and scored two runs. The key hit in the three-run third inning was Brown's two-run single.

Rotary/Lions (1-0) will play Saturday, 11 a.m., at Holler Field against Culver Design. Kiwanis (0-1) plays Monday at Holler Field against Bill Miller Equipment.
