D&D Homes forces third game

POTOMAC PARK - D&D Homes forced a game three playoff game by scoring often in the early innings in a 10-4 win over Culver Design Wednesday at Holler Field.

The win evens the best-of-three opening round playoff series at one game apiece. Culver won the first game 8-0 on Monday. Game three is scheduled for Friday at Hamilton Field.

D&D (14-5) scored four runs in each of the first two innings, while Adam Stowell and Justin Shaw kept Culver off the board until the fourth inning. Stowell allowed one hit in the first three innings, while Shaw allowed four hits finishing out.

Shaw also paced D&D at the plate by collecting a triple and two singles. Stowell drove in two runs with a double and a single, and Jay Wilson finished with two singles. Ben Russell added an RBI single.

Culver, which scored half of its runs in the fourth and the other half in the seventh, got a double from Fox and a RBI single from Landis.

The D&D first inning began with a single from Wilson, a walk from Eric Banner and a run-scoring single from Stowell. Shaw also came through with an RBI single, while the final two runs were scored on two fielder's choices.

Culver falls to 13-6 with the loss.
