More big scores reported this week. Dave Yates rolled another 300 game (his third this season) and a 736 set for the top score at The Bowler for the week.
Zach Leasure bowled his first 300 game and a 625 set at Sherwood Lanes.
The area's highest score for the week was Shane Nickelson's 746/279 bowled at Wilson Lanes. Rodney Helsley was next high at that center rolling 729/246.
At The Bowler, Rich Shewbridge followed Yates in the high scores list bowling 730/266. Ken Rose close behind with 725/264. Aaron Blocher in the Friday Gems League rolled a 299 game in his 700 set and Will Clinch scored a 286 game in his 702 set.
Mike Sipple was the leader for the week at White Oak Lanes scoring 714/253. Shane Nickleson followed rolling 704/279.
Reuben Collins' 676/255 was the top score at Par-Matt. Ed Glotfelty a couple pins back rolling 674/247.
Robbie Knieriem was highest for the week at Sherwood Lanes bowling 651/254. Chris Lancaster followed rolling 643/224.
At Rainbow Lanes, Alan Whetzel was highest bowling 552/222.
In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, Mike Oyer led the scoring bowling 666/235. Chad Gable and Don Parsons followed rolling 656/248 and 627/235 respectively.
Georganne Morris bowled 647/242 and was the area's top lady bowler for the week. Dawn House followed rolling 583/209.
Wilson's Sandy Smith scored 619/245 for that center's high ladies score. Stephanie Harris' 542/205 was next high.
Jessica Patch and Michele Hitchins were the top ladies at White Oak Lanes scoring 587/222 and 543/225 respectively.
Pam Brinkman's 581/230 was highest at Rainbow Lanes followed by Sandy Hott's 569/225.
Nancy Glotfelty rolled 572/200 at Par-Matt and Alice Monahan scored 516/190 at Sherwood Lanes.
Paul Williams bowled 664/245 at The Bowler for the area's top senior score for the week. Glenn Bell also at The bowler rolled 647/244. Rainbow's Ernie Davis scored 622/241 in their senior league. Dick Gallagher rolled 524/213 for the seniors at Par-Matt. Ed Hudgins was White Oaks' top senior rolling 475/180.
Aaron Sites was the area's leading youth bowler for the week scoring 678/268 at White Oak Lanes.
Amanda Greene led the youth at Wilson Lanes rolling 659/248.
Nathan Lowery scored 634/237 for the youth high at The Bowler. Josh Neilson bowled 546/190 at Sherwood Lanes and Doug Kisner rolled 537/203 at Par-Matt Lanes.
Mike Scroggins was the number five seed and the lone lefty in the televised finals of the PBA Tour's Dick Weber Classic. Scroggins won the event throwing big scores against all but the first match against Pete Weber. All of the right handers had trouble with the lanes breaking down (all except Weber). Scoggins had to double in the tenth to defeat Weber winning 204 to 197. He then defeated in order: Tommy DeLutz 269-224, Jack Jurek 254-199 and the number one seed, Chris Barnes 226-171.
