At The Bowler, Keefe Kaylor was highest, rolling 763/258. Darren Durbin followed, scoring 741/255. Troy Smith bowled a big 288 game in his 689 set.

Bob Greene also bowled a big game in Wilson’s weekly high of 745/288. Brett Stenberg was next high, scoring 716/288.

John Leptic Jr. bowled 682/256 for the top score at Sherwood Lanes. Kim Jackson was next, rolling 671/235.

Par-Matt’s high of 681/255 was bowled by Joe Lucas, followed by Curt Glotfelty’s 667/279.

Rainbow’s high for the week was Rodney Helsley’s 667/245, followed by Bryan Jose’s 635/227.

In the PBA Experience League, Walt Crawford scored highest, rolling 667/236. Butch Young and Adam Blackburn were next high. Young rolled 606/252 and Blackburn scored 600/231.

Dawn House bowled 672/248 at The Bowler for the area’s top ladies’ score for the week. Candi Dolly was next at that center, rolling 615/237.

At White Oak Lanes, Melyssa Leasure bowled 604/243 for White Oaks’ top lady. Vicki Coughlin was next, rolling 589/223.

Nancy Glotfelty’s 603 set was tops for the Par-Matt ladies. B.J. Riggleman was next, rolling a 571 set.

Bernice Tichnell’s 561/190 was Rainbow’s leading ladies score. Lou Dille was next, rolling 541/189.

Diane Williams was the highest-scoring lady bowler at Wilson Lanes. Jessica Judy followed, rolling 546/193.

Amy Rowe and Alice Monahan were the top-scoring ladies at Sherwood Lanes, bowling 556/211 and 539/191 respectively.

Darrell Boatman was the area’s top senior bowler, rolling 596/215 at the bowler. Harold Fike at Par-Matt Lanes rolled 561 and Brad Deter bowled 512/219 at White Oak Lanes. Senior Milton Fairgrieve rolled 451/161 at Sherwood Lanes.

Amanda Greene was the area’s top youth bowler for the week scoring 609/224 at Wilson Lanes. Kevin Patch bowled 600/255 at White Oak Lanes and Jeremy Sharpless rolled 598/216 at Par- Matt. Danny Walch scored 597/221 at The Bowler. Wade Robinson scored 552/192 at Sherwood and Tyler Mansfield rolled 542/200 at Rainbow Lanes.

Bowling scores have been somewhat erratic during the last several weeks. I’m sure much of that can be blamed on the changing weather. When the temperature gets several degrees below freezing, bowling centers have a big area to heat and the circulation of the heated air affects lane oil breakdown. It is very obvious in some centers where the lanes nearest the outside wall dries out much quicker than the other lanes.

The cold also causes a few more aches and joint pains than normal so it takes longer to warm up and feel comfortable with your delivery. When snow is involved there are other problems. Wet areas on the floor or carpet can cause some serious falls during delivery.

The weather brings several things to be concerned about.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
