Walters, Pryor roll perfect games

Howard "Pete" Peterson, Columnist
Cumberland Times-News

Paul Pryor bowled 747/300 at White Oak Lanes in the Tuesday Night Mixed League on Feb. 3. I believe it is his second perfect game.

Travis Walters rolled his second 300 of this season in the ABL Mixed League at The Bowler on Feb. 10, scoring 670/300.

Jeremiah Howsare was the area’s top bowler for the week, rolling 770/265. Pryor was next, then Bobby Lannon, bowling 721/277

Bob Greene was highest at Wilson Lanes, rolling 752/269. Brett Stenberg was next, scoring 725/257. Rodney Kesner followed, bowling an honor-score 299 game and 720 set. Joe Buff also a big game, a 280 in his 686 set.

Troy Smith was highest at The Bowler, scoring 714/279. Scott Brant’s 702/269 was the next highest score.

At Par-Matt Lanes, Larry Wilt and Quintin Guthrie were the leaders, scoring 704/245 and 696/256 respectively.

Billy Zacot was highest for the week at Rainbow Lanes, rolling 667/256. Bruce Swayne was next, scoring 610/235.

Jr. Monahan was highest at Sherwood Lanes, bowling 646/242. Both Ryan and Ralph Knieriem rolled 624 sets and were tied for second place.

The White Oaks’ PBA Experience League results for the week show Don Parsons was highest, rolling 651/226. Jeremiah Howsare was next, scoring 646/243, followed by Don Humbertson, bowling 605/234.

Crystal Uhl was the area’s top lady bowler, scoring 643/239 at The Bowler. Dawn House was next, rolling 599/255. Reesa Allwine bowled a 276 game in her 543 set.

Felicia Deremer was highest of the White Oaks ladies, rolling a big 243 game and 624 set. Autumn Gable followed, scoring 546/202.

At Wilson Lanes, Sandy Smith bowled 570/201 for the ladies’ high, followed by Melissa Snyder’s 549/202.

Sandy Hott and Dolly Sharpless were Rainbow’s top ladies, Hott bowled 555/195 and Sharpless rolled 551/200.

B.J. Riggleman’s 532 set was highest at Par-Matt Lanes. Lee Wilt and Nancy Glotfelty were next, each rolling 521 sets.

Alice Monahan’s 514/210 was Sherwood’s top lady, followed by Peach Rounds’ 493/180.

Rick High was the area’s top senior in the area, rolling 637/242 at The Bowler. Gary Friend’s 555 set was Par-Matt’s top senior score and Pat Logsdon rolled 498/189 at White Oak Lanes.

Amanda Greene was the area’s top youth bowler, scoring 659/255 at Wilson Lanes. Danny Walch scored 654/243 at The Bowler and Larissa Blizzard rolled 622/253 at White Oak Lanes. Youth Ben Russell bowled 565/214 at Sherwood and Charles Abernathy scored 544/189 at Rainbow Lanes.

The warmer weather recently affects how the lanes conditions break down compared to the stretch of cold temperatures of the last several weeks. The warm temperatures heat up the whole building so the lanes will break down relatively uniformly rather than be subject to the circulation caused by the center’s heating system. This still means that adjustments to lane conditions have to be made based on your ball reaction. The warm weather should help to keep each pair of lanes close to being the same.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
