Mike Sipple bowled 697/300 at White Oak Lanes for the first perfect game in the area this new bowling season.

The area’s top score for the week was 792/279 bowled by Bob Greene at Wilson Lanes. Greene rolled four 700’s during the week. Brett Stenberg also rolled a big score posting 727/279.

Bobby Lannon’s 766/268 was the high for the week at White Oaks. Corey Shirey was next rolling a big 290 game in his 713 set. J.M. Sites also scored big, a 286 game and 711 set.

At The Bowler, Justin Smith bowled 737/258 for that center’s high. Troy Cubbage was next rolling 706/258.

Brian Jose bowled 690/279 for Rainbow’s high for the week followed by J. Shoemaker rolling 657/276.

Charlie Wamsley’s 676/268 was Sherwood’s high and John Rowe was next scoring 659/267.

In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, Mike Brobst led the scoring by rolling 649/227. Bobby Lannon and Sipple followed scoring 633/241 and 585/224, respectively.

Autumn Gable was the area’s top lady bowler for the week bowling 580/213 at White Oak Lanes. Michele Hitchens was next scoring 554/203.

Judy Powell was the top lady at The Bowler rolling 566/201. Candi Dolly was next high for the ladies scoring 553/203.

Janet Bucklew was highest of the Rainbow ladies bowling 552/229. Pam Brinkman and Fran Cuthbertson were next each rolling 515 sets.

Julie Greene and Pat Gwizdale were highest of the Wilson ladies bowling 534/193 and 526/180, respectively.

Gina Hamm rolled 464/180 at Sherwood Lanes.

Jack Klosterman was the area’s top senior bowler for the week scoring 634/258 at The Bowler. Rainbow’s Ernie Davis rolled 623/225 for that center’s senior high. Pat Logsdon bowled 577/212 for the senior high at White Oak Lanes.

Nathan Lowery was the top youth bowler for the week scoring 694/258 at The Bowler. Amanda Greene scored 587/213 at Wilson Lanes, Cody Morton rolled 586/202 at Rainbow Lanes and Daylynn Andrews scored 542/194 at White Oak Lanes.

Area bowlers are scoring higher now that we are about two months into the new season. I am a bit surprised that it took this long before a perfect game was recorded in the local area. We still have not had an 800 series to date. The changing weather has also reduced high scoring. The most important factor in my opinion is the positive effect of maintaining consistent lane conditions. New personnel running the equipment as well as bowlers trying out the latest and greatest that the ball companies supply will also take time to improve overall scoring.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
