Mike Brobst perfect in Sport League

Mike Brobst bowled a perfect game in the PBA Experience League at White Oak Lanes.

Adam Braithwaite was the area’s top bowler for the week, rolling 743/253 at Rainbow Lanes. Charlie Abernathy followed, scoring 741/258.

At The Bowler, Corey Shirey bowled 742/259 and that center’s top score for the week. Paul Pryor and Cary Lowery were next, both rolling 741 sets.

Corey Shirey was highest at White Oaks, scoring 740/268. Derek Yates followed, rolling 728/269.

At Sherwood Lanes, Steve Frost scored highest for the week, posting 733/256. Kim Jackson was next, rolling 688/257.

Bob Greene’s 718/259 was on top of Wilson Lanes’ weekly scoring list. Punkin Oates’ 649/221 was next high.

In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, Brobst’s 688/300 was highest, followed by Derek Yates and Bobby Benton. Yates rolled 685/249 and Benton scored 643/266.

Sandy Hott was the area’s top lady bowler for the week, scoring 664/245 at Rainbow Lanes. Betty Brown was next high, rolling 579/227.

Georganne Morris was highest of The Bowler ladies, scoring 643/230. Nancy Miller was next high, rolling 584/201.

Julie Greene’s 589/206 was the ladies high at Wilson Lanes. Janine Buff was next, bowling 523/191.

Stephanie Hawley scored 564/200 for the ladies high at White Oaks. Cindy Middleton was next high, rolling 555/200.

Jack Klosterman was the area’s top senior for the week, rolling 665/245 at The Bowler. John Corbin rolled 647/231 in the senior Golden Oldies League and Dolly Wolfe bowled 521/181.

Senior, Brad Deter scored 591/213 at White Oaks.

Tanner Smith was the area’s top youth bowler for the week, rolling 661/257 at White Oaks. Adam Brant scored 638/224 at The Bowler. Dylan Pepper rolled 547/192 at Wilson Lanes and Matt Clark bowled 508/177 at Sherwood Lanes.

Many of the youth bowlers were complaining about the lane conditions at Parr-Matt for the Showcase Tournament that was held last Saturday, Feb. 19. The girls bowled first and the lanes were not re-oiled for the boys’ part of the tourney. The result was that lanes were very dry and what oil was left was pushed further down the lanes with many dry spots.

The boys that used aggressive balls were obviously out of their comfort zone. Scores reflected the problem in that only one 200 game score was recorded in the whole three-game tourney with nine four-person teams.

The lesson? Make sure that your bowlers have a plastic non-hooking ball in their equipment. They are not only for spares, they can save your game as a strike ball.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
