Wilson’s Craig Davis rolled a perfect game and an 804 set to take the week’s top area bowling honors.

Scott Hixenbaugh followed Davis in scoring at Wilson Lanes, rolling 753/258. Bob Greene and Bill Kyle were next with 716 sets.

Troy Cubbage bowled 772/280 for the White Oaks’ high, leading an explosion  of high games at that  center. Eleven games were rolled with scores of 273 and higher. Darren Durbin followed Cubbage, scoring 767/277 then Jeremiah Howsare rolled a big 290 game in his 761 set.

At Rainbow Lanes, Bryan Jose bowled 759/257 for that center’s weekly high. Chris Riggleman was next high, scoring 728/268 with Tyler Mansfield rolling 726/267.

Dave Yates scored 722/269 for the week’s high mark at The Bowler. Cary Lowery and B.J. Curtis were next; Lowery bowled 709/246 and Curtis rolled 704/278.

Jack Tusing was Par-Matt’s leader bowling 716/258. Joe Lucas followed, scoring 697/268.

Corey Gatian scored 705/253 for the Sherwood high. Dave Richards Sr. was next, rolling 670/245.

In the PBA Experience League at White Oaks, Mike Sipple led the scoring with 682/268. Danny Walch and Jeremiah Howsare were next, rolling 664/244 and 658/233 respectively.

Rainbow’s Sandy Hott was the area’s top lady bowler for the week, scoring 611/237. Rae Piraino was next rolling, 594/222.

Autumn Gable’s 582/212 led the ladies at White Oaks. Vicki Coughlin was next, scoring 556/224.

Reesa Allwine was The Bowler’s top lady, rolling 566/221. Kathie Herbert was next, scoring 544/211.

Jennie Smith was Par-Matt’s leading lady, scoring 552/232. Nancy Glotfelty’s 525/179 was next high.

At Sherwood, Anna Durst bowled 550/211 and Alice Monahan rolled 505/185.

Wilson’s Pat Gwizdale bowled 531/180 and Sandy Smith scored 523/194.

George Gilmore was the area’s top senior bowler for the week, scoring 616/215 in the Antique Senior League at The Bowler. Jennie Evans rolled 532/224. At Par-Matt Lanes, senior Larry Reckart bowled 580/225 and Margie Loughry rolled 539/211. Don Shaw was the high senior at White Oaks. Janelle Grapes bowled 498/189.

Kasey Sullivan was the area’s top youth bowler for the week, rolling a big 731 set and high game of 257 at The Bowler. Randy Cubbage bowled 659/242. Sullivan was also the high youth at White Oaks, scoring 641/237. Bri Morris rolled 527/222. Tyler Iser bowled 535/269 and Kris Tusing rolled 472/175 at Rainbow Lanes.

I had the chance to watch a few matches of PBA bowlers on TV recently. Chris Barnes defeated Mika Koivuniemi 244 to 228 and Liz Johnson against Kelly Kulick and Johnson against Missy Parkin in the finals. You can read the accounts on bowl.com/news. The interesting point was that after a great performance against Kulick, Liz Johnson saw her strike shot evaporate due to changing lane conditions. She left two splits, a 4-6-7 in the second frame and a 4-6 in the fourth. The mental problem is that we all hate to change very much when the previous game was going so well. Liz defeated Kulick 267 to 260 in the semifinal but lost to Parkin 190 to 238 in the final.

Good luck bowling and have fun striking out!
