FROSTBURG — A Frostburg Police officer who was attempting to break up a large party early Saturday morning in the area of 38 Paul St. was knocked to the ground by a 19-year-old Baltimore woman and taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
Deara D. Parker allegedly struck Patrolman Alan Zapf in the head, knocking him to the ground, as he was dealing with another party-goer acting in a disorderly manner. The party was attended by nearly 200 people, police said.
Parker was charged with second-degree assault, assault on a police officer, interfere with an arrest, fail to obey and disorderly conduct. She was released on her own recognizance by a district court commissioner the next morning, police said.
Johnny Bentley Norris, 21, of Accokeek allegedly ran from police during the incident and was later charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
