OAKLAND — Grantsville resident Jarrod Olen Wilburn, 31, was sentenced in Garrett County Circuit Court to 10 years in prison with six years suspended for conspiracy to possess heroin with intent to distribute.
Wilburn entered an Alford plea in which he did not admit guilt but acknowledged that the state had sufficient evidence that he would probably be found guilty. Judge Jim Sherbin found Wilburn guilty and dismissed related charges.
Wilburn will be on probation upon release.
He was charged by investigators with the Garrett County Narcotics Task Force in July who stopped him for a traffic violation and found hypodermic needles where he was seated. A quantity of heroin was found on a female passenger and Wilburn made statements to the officers about traveling to purchase heroin for others.
