Frostburg pharmacy robbed at gunpoint

— FROSTBURG  — Authorities were searching late Thursday for a suspect who reportedly robbed the Frostburg Pharmacare Pharmacy.

Frostburg Police received a report of an armed robbery at the business located on New Georges Creek Road about 5:15 p.m.

Investigators said a white male suspect wearing dark pants, a black hoodie sweatshirt pulled up over his head with a multi-colored mask and black gloves entered the pharmacy and displayed a black handgun. He ordered all employees to get on the floor and then went behind the counter where he retrieved an undisclosed amount of prescription pills, police said.

The suspect fled the pharmacy and ran toward the Frostburg Plaza Shopping Center. He reportedly got into a newer model white passenger vehicle parked at the shopping center, according to police.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s and is 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build.

Police conducted an immediate search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

  The investigation is continuing by C3I and the Frostburg Police.
