SOMERSET, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police apprehended a driver who traveled off the road and came to rest in a farm creek after he led them on a high-speed chase early Sunday morning.
Larry Eugene Tinkey, 41, of Somerset Township, was taken to Somerset Hospital following the 2:27 a.m. crash on Deans Road and felony and misdemeanor charges are pending, police said.
Tinkey is accused of fleeing and eluding and driving under the influence of alcohol by troopers who followed him at speeds up to 90 mph on narrow winding roads, then backed off in an attempt to allow him to slow down.
Tinkey was injured and was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
