Latest Safe Streets operation nets 29 arrests

CUMBERLAND — Twenty-nine people were arrested in last week’s Safe Streets warrant initiative, the sixth such operation since the program began several months ago. The warrant initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program.

“The goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants,” said Safe Streets program coordinator David Goad.  

Goad said Operation Takedown VI police teams made a total of 29 arrests and served 36 warrants during the weeklong initiative.

The following individuals were apprehended:

April 15

• Richard Fitch, 50, Gwynn Oak — rape second-degree, sex offense second-degree, second-degree assault warrants, $50,000 bond.

• Leonard Yenchenko, 52, Cumberland — violation of probation warrant, $10,000 bond.

• Shawn Daniel Nolan, 24, Frostburg — four violation of probation warrants, held without bond.

• Rachael Erin Twigg, 21, Cumberland — assault, released on personal recognizance.

• Stephen Joshua Garrett, 24, Greenbelt — Prince George’s County warrant for failure to appear for driving while suspended, $3,000 bond.

April 16

• Virginia Mae England, 19, Cumberland — failure to appear warrant for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, held without bond.

• William Ray Martz, 54, Cumberland — warrant for violation of protective order, $1,000 bond.

• Brandon Dink Logan, 31, Cumberland — assault, $20,000 bond.

• Lyaundra Allison Cormwell, 29, Cumberland — violation of probation warrant, $500 bond

• Ashley McCormick Weaver, 29, Cumberland — malicious destruction of property, $2,000 bond.

• Danny Ray Roach, 30,  Frostburg — failure to appear for tobacco products to minors, released on personal recognizance.

• Deron Michael Elbin, 38, Cumberland — failure to pay fine warrant for driving while intoxicated conviction, failure to pay fine warrant for driving while suspended conviction and assault warrant, $7,000 bond.

• Jeanie Lynn Daris, 36, Lonaconing — violation of probation warrant, held without bond.

• William Blondell Ludwick, 22, Keyser, W.Va. — failure to appear warrant for theft and failure to appear warrant for possession of marijuana, $5,000 bond.

April 17

• Christina Marie McMillan, 22, Frostburg — failure to appear warrant for theft, $2,000 bond.

• Shane Christopher Sneathen, 25, Cumberland — sex offense warrant, $20,000 bond.

• Orlando Cornell Meade, 38, Delray, W.Va. — failure to reregister as a sex offender, held without bond.

• Wayne Douglas Baugher, 25, Frostburg — failure to reregister as a sex offender, held without bond.

April 18

• Malcolm Allen Parsons, 20, Lonaconing — burglary, released on personal recognizance.

• Jamie Todd Richards, 47, Mannington, W.Va. — failure to appear warrant for possession of marijuana, released on personal recognizance.

• Samantha Irene Talbott, 23, Bedford, Pa. — failure to appear warrant for controlled dangerous substance violations, $10,000 bond.

• Nathan Tyrone Shell, 31, Cumberland — failure to appear warrant for disorderly conduct, $4,000 bond.

• Michael Wayne Harper Jr., 21, Cumberland — failure to appear warrant for malicious destruction of property, $2,000 bond.

• Cody Ray Broadwater, 27, Piedmont, W.Va. — fugitive from state of West Virginia for failure to appear for grand larceny, held without bond.

• Brittany Lynn Rice, 27, Keyser, W.Va. — fugitive from state of West Virginia for failure to appear for grand larceny, held without bond.

• Carrie Ann Parker, 36, Cumberland — two failure to appear warrants for theft, held without bond.

April 19

• Jared Tyler Adams, 28, Westernport — assault, $10,000 bond.

• Ashley Nicole Hopkins, 22, Keyser, W.Va. — failure to appear warrant for driving without a license, $1,000 bond.

• Tammy Renee McCaw, 36, Buffalo Mills, Pa. — failure to appear warrant for theft, released on personal recognizance.
