City responds to house fire on Seymour Street

— CUMBERLAND — City firefighters were dispatched to a fire that broke out in a residence in the 400 block of Seymour Street early Monday afternoon.

The location is just off West Industrial Boulevard and opposite the Potomac Farms Dairy.

At approximately 12:55 p.m., the Allegany County 911 center alerted the Cumberland Fire Department to a house fire at 422 Seymour St.

Units were dispatched to the scene and, within minutes, the incident was upgraded to a working house fire.

Allegany County Fire Police was also requested to control traffic through the area, including heavily traveled Industrial Boulevard.
