Latest Safe Streets warrant sweep results in 36 arrests

Sheriff's deputies, city police take part in operation

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Police Department and allied agencies served 42 arrest warrants that resulted in 36 people being arrested during the most recent Operation Safe Streets warrant initiative held last week.

“Our goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants,” David Goad, program coordinator, said. Operation Safe Streets sought citizen help in locating those wanted on open arrest warrants and police apprehended 12 of the 16 individuals whose names were released to the media for publication.

“This is another successful operation resulting from citizen assistance and the hard work by all the Allegany County sheriff’s deputies, Cumberland Police officers and warrant officers that participated in this operation,” Goad said. 

Warrants served:

• Theodore Scott Nelson, 39, Cumberland, violation of probation, held without bond.

• Richard Edward Flanagan, 34, Cumberland, violation of protective order, $25,000 bond.

• Darryl Lemar Powell Sr., 32, Cumberland, counterfeiting, released on personal recognizance.

• Robert Glenn Cowgill, 51, Cumberland, failure to appear for controlled dangerous substance violation, $100 bond.

• Jude David Smith, 27, Cumberland, two assaults and violation of probation, $102,500 bond.

• Donald Christopher Jones, 27, Frostburg, violation of probation, $500 bond.

• Gary Wayne McKenzie Jr., 26, Lonaconing, failure to appear for malicious de-struction of property and telephone misuse, released.

• Desirae Nicole Washington, 27, Cumberland, theft, $15,000 bond.

• Ashley Nichole Hagenbuch, 25, Ridgeley, W.Va., failure to appear for bad checks, released.

• Westley Alan Myers, 29, Cumberland, failure to abide by conditions of pretrial release, held without bond.

• Mark Douglas Smith, 44, Cumberland, possession CDS, released.

• Brett Leonza Freeman, 28, Cumberland, state parole retake, held without bond.

• Michaell Roxane Delwater, 56, Cumberland, assault on police, released.

• Seth Leonard Wells, 20, Cumberland, failure to appear for underage possession of alcohol, released.

• Michelle Lynn Porter, 30, Cumberland, failure to appear for failure to send child to school, released.

• Ryan Jarrett Lindner, 19, Cumberland, failure to appear for CDS violation, released.

• Brittany Monchel Soto, 25, Cumberland, failure to appear for disorderly conduct, released.

• Jerry Steven Jenkins, 40, Cumberland, violation of probation, $200 bond.

• Ryan Carson O’Toole, 36, Cumberland, violation of probation and assault/violation of protective order, held without bond.

• James William Zalewski, 43, Cumberland, violation of probation and failure to appear, held without bond.

• Ashley Dawn Hannon, 27, Cumberland, failure to appear for CDS violation, $10,000 bond.

• William James Izzett, 26, Cumberland, fugitive from West Virginia for failure to appear for pretrial hearing, held without bond.

• Donna Marie Sturm, 32, Wiley Ford, W.Va., fugitive on a federal warrant for CDS violation, released to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

• Christopher Michael Comire, 22, Cumberland, violation of probation, $250 bond.

• Bradley Keith Holler, 28, Salisbury, Pa., violation of probation, held without bond.

• Ashley Marie Stout, 26, Cumberland, violation of probation and CDS violation, $2,500 bond.

• Lonniece Miyani Vaughn, 20, Frostburg, failure to appear for driving while suspended, $100 bond.

• Khyree Deangelo White, 20, Grantsville, failure to appear for theft, released.

• Thomas Eugene Femi, 37, LaVale, violation of probation, $315 bond.

• Leah Dawn Decker, 25, Cumberland, violation of probation, $500 bond.

• Whitney Nicole Hollings-worth, 24, Ridgeley, W.Va., failure to appear for child support hearing, held without bond.

• Joseph Brian Shaffer, 50, Cumberland, failure to appear for violation of probation hearing, held without bond.

• Katherine Ann Martin, 25, Cumberland, violation of probation, $500 bond.

• Jennifer Lynn Carr, 29, Cumberland, failure to appear for traffic related offenses, released.

• Noah Abiola Majinnasola, 20, Baltimore, violation of probation, $500 bond.

• Roger Martin Williams Jr., 35, Midland, failure to appear for CDS violations, $2,500 bond

“These warrant initiatives continue to be successful because of the partnership between our citizens providing information and officers following up on these leads to locate and apprehend individuals that have often eluded authorities for some time,” Cumberland Police Chief Charles Hinnant said.
