OAKLAND — The Garrett County commissioners will consider funding for the Southern Middle School renovation project during their public meeting Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
Last week, the commission voted to allow $582,400 for the design phase of the project to remain intact in the fiscal 2014 budget with the condition that no funds will be spent until further discussion with the board of education takes place. At that time, the commission approved the county’s budget.
The commissioners retained the option of removing the funding from the budget upon mutual agreement with the board after a public session on school funding is conducted.
Other action items for the 4 p.m. meeting include Program Open Space allocations, a priority list for the State Consolidated Transportation Plan and a shoreline stabilization incentive policy.
The commissioners will participate in the Bayard Bridge ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier in the day.
