— BREEZEWOOD, Pa. — An Inwood, W.Va., man in the United States illegally and not possessing a valid driver’s license was in the Bedford County Jail on a cash bond of $150,000 Wednesday after causing DUI accidents with injuries on Christmas, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Authorities pieced together a complex scenario that shows Miguel Aguilar-Perez, 29, was driving a 2003 Saturn Vue that rear-ended a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe on state Route 30 at North Breezewood Road about 6:30 p.m. before fleeing eastward toward Fulton County.

At some point, Perez turned around and started driving westbound, but in the eastbound lane, according to police.

Kevin Michael Millin, 46, Harrisonville, Pa., driving eastbound in a 2007 Subaru Impreza, attempted to avoid Perez’s vehicle by steering to the left. However, the front right portions of each car struck.

The Perez vehicle began to rotate and was struck in the driver’s side by a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Dennis Petre, 31.

Perez’s Saturn stopped in the westbound lane and was then struck again, this time on its left side by a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Samantha Clippinger, 21, Hustontown.

Troopers reportedly found eight open containers of beer inside Perez’s vehicle. He was arrested at the scene and taken to UPMC Bedford to have blood drawn for alcohol content. Magisterial District Judge Tonya Osman set the bail amount.

A 41-year-old woman in the Subaru is 8 months pregnant and was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Larwin Jay Martin, 28, a passenger in the Chrysler, was transported to Altoona Regional Hospital for what police described as major injuries.

The 14 charges against Perez include felony aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed, two counts of DUI and reckless driving.
