— FROSTBURG — A Frostburg man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly held a knife to his wife’s throat before she locked herself in a separate room.

Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2 p.m. complaint at a residence in the 12000 block of Upper George’s Creek Road.

Upon arrival, police forced entry and took the suspect into custody without further incident.

The victim and an infant in the residence apparently were not injured.

Police charged Adam Michael Lowery, 33, with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and false imprisonment before he was jailed in the Allegany County Detention Center on $20,000 bond, pending bail review in district court.

Police said the victim was allowed to go to an upstairs bedroom to check on her child. She then barricaded herself in a room with the child until police arrived.

Maryland State Police assisted in the response.
