— BURLINGTON, W.Va. — An 18-year-old Burlington man suffered fatal injuries in a single-vehicle accident late Friday on Knobley Road south of U.S. Route 50, according to the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon R. Sites died at Potomac Valley Hospital following the 10:19 p.m. crash that also injured two Burlington men who are brothers, police said.

Sites was a passenger in a Chevrolet pickup operated by Nicholas R. Shoemaker, 18, and also occupied by 22-year-old Lucas Shoemaker.

Both Shoemakers were taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland where they were treated and released, police said.

Police said the accident occurred when the truck veered off the highway, struck an embankment and overturned.

The Mineral County 911 center alerted two ambulances from the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department and one from the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
