The word can set you free from this bondage

— I felt compelled to address Jerry Ruby's letter regarding the suicide rate among young homosexuals. ("Suicide rate high among young homosexuals," April 28 Times-News) However, first, I'll address the "Holy Roller" title. I will wear that badge proudly because the Word of God states in Leviticus 11:44 that we are to be HoIy as He is Holy, Unfortunately, in today's society, with God out of the schools and pick-a-god-any-god in our government, we have lost touch as to what is Holy.
Never before have we had a more accepting environment for homosexuals. It is accepted in our schools, our government, our movies, our media, and yes, even in our Church's.
These kids are not killing themselves because of peer pressure against their homosexuality, they are looking for hope in a hopeless situation. They don't need a support group.
They need a Lord and Savior who will love them through the hurt in their lives. A Savior who can give them hope in a lost and dying world.
We Holy Rollers are not trying to damn anyone. We are just trying to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, not as a judge and jury, but as his disciples, giving hope to the hopeless.
Christ loves each of us, but we must make a choice to serve Him and follow his word. Proverbs 14:12 says "There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death."
If anyone who is reading this is struggling with homosexuality please know that there is a Savior who loves you and His word can set you free from the bondage of homosexuality.
