Students' productions well worth watching

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending three local high school theatrical productions - Allegany, Mountain Ridge and Bishop Walsh (I attended Fort Hill's last month).
We are fortunate to live in an area with so much wonderful live theatre - from the high school thespian groups all the way to The Cumberland Theatre's professional equity shows.
Why spend money on expensive tickets for theatres two or more hours away, especially with the cost of gas?
While all the productions were excellent, it was disheartening to see so many empty seats. These students, teachers, and parents have worked very hard and deserve our support.
Come on people, take advantage of what's in your own backyard! There is nothing to compare to live theatre! You still have another chance to catch Les Miserables at Mountain Ridge this weekend May 8-11.
