Daughter's quick thinking helps save her mother

My name is Kirsten Hansford, I have a story I want to share with you. Last weekend I collapsed at our home in Bel-Air. My 9-year-old daughter was the only one home with me. Jordyn Leigh came downstairs to find me unresponsive. She immediately picked up the phone and dialed 911, she then at the same time rushed outside to get neighbors to help too.

Within minutes the Cresaptown rescue team was at my door and neighbors as well. I then began to come to.

The doctors chalk it up to heat exhaustion and being dehydrated. I fractured a rib when I collapsed.

What I want to tell you is: Jordyn Leigh, our daughter, is a very special little girl who has had a tough year, and yet she can always put a smile on your face, she always picks you up when your down, and you can always count on her big heart and understanding. Without Jordyn calling 911 and getting the neighbors help who knows how long it would have been till I would have had medical attention.

She is my hero, and I'm lucky to be the one she calls "Mama."

I also wanted to thank my neighbors as well for everything they did for me too. Our family just recently moved back to the area after being gone for nearly 10 years. And just the short time we have known our neighbors they have made us feel so very welcome.

So I wanted to tell you my story in case there could be a chance of you running this story in the paper, I just can't say thank you and I love you enough to our daughter. I'm OK today because of her quick thinking.
