Why pick a letter that wrongly blames Christians for an ad?

To the Editor:
Cumberland Times-News

I take exception with Mineral County Commissioner Wayne Spiggle for picking and publicly reading a letter that asserted that ads ran on the Christian radio station told people they were “going to hell” if they did not support the Wind Farm Project. (“Tax dollars, job creation critical to Mineral’s wind farm support,” Oct. 14 Times-News, Page 1A)

None of the ads ran by Common Sense West Virginia mentioned religion, and they were not written by the station. I believe it is wrong for Commissioner Spiggle to pick a single residents letter to imply that it did.

The Christian radio station was not the only station in the area running these ads.

I didn’t hear the commissioner produce a letter that said you were opposed to rock-n-roll or country music if you listened to the ads on the other stations.

I find it interesting that Commissioner Spiggle chose a letter that only targeted a Christian radio station.

Christians are under attack in this nation by the liberal left across this nation. They have taken prayer from our public schools; they want to take God off the money and out of the Pledge of Allegiance. We are a nation founded on good solid Christian principles. It has made a strong and just nation. We should remain that way.

Commissioner Spiggle has made no secret of the fact that he opposes the Wind Project and the jobs it will create, but it is wrong for him to use his flawed liberal left ideology and pick a letter that somehow blames Christians for a pro-jobs ad.
