Godbless the firefighter with the world’s biggest heart

To the Editor:
Cumberland Times-News

We took photos of the fire on Carroll Street last Friday and it was the most tragic thing to watch. (“West Side woman rescued from fire,” Oct. 17 Times-News, Page 1A) We live across the street and the house was one of the prettiest on our street, but it is no longer there, it is just a shell.

The pictures are hard to view. After the fireman in the picture carried Eugene Trottier's wife out of the house, he went directly to the middle of the street to kneel down in hurt. I began to cry and my fiance hugged me and we prayed.

The fireman in this picture when this happened, it was like a flashback of 9/11. Seeing this fireman was so touching. You could tell how big his heart really was.

Later, the fire calmed and things settled down a bit on our street. Although I didn’t get the fireman’s name in the picture, I did go to him and give him a hug.

I thought all day of something to do for this fireman and I thought I would write to the Times-News to say that they should give an extra thanks to this fireman with the biggest heart ever.

If I were ever in need of assistance of a fireman I would want this fireman behind me or to have my back.

I thank all the firemen who ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd at the scene helping my neighbors, but this fireman deserves a Heart of Honor.

My family and I will pray for the victims of the fire and this fireman also. I will pray for the fireman because the pain I saw on his face was enough to make me not sleep at night, so I know it will be something that he will probably think of and will stick in his head for a while.

God bless everyone who was on the scene of this tragic fire, and God bless the victims and this special fireman with the biggest heart I have ever seen.
