True science and the Bible are always in agreement

— Robert Llewellyn’s letter to the editor of April 7, “They should be at odds,” reflects the view of many in the scientific community that true science conflicts with the Bible.

He concludes that science is reliable and the Bible is not.

Informed Bible believers understand that God established all the laws of nature. Our creator has instilled in man the desire to question how these laws operate and the intelligence to live within their boundaries.

In scientific research everything is a theory until proven by the scientific method — first the theory, then test it, measure it, and then have reproducible results. When the theory does not get the same result every time, then it still remains only a theory.

Evolution is only a theory. No scientific investigation has ever proved evolution. Evolution is a belief system.

The esteemed scientist, Sir Isaac Newton, wrote “Plato is my friend, Aristotle is my friend, but my best friend is the truth.” Newton accepted the Bible as true in all its declarations — science included.

For instance, in the Old Testament book of Job, chapter 26 verses 7 and 8, Job declared of God, “He stretches out the north over empty space: He hangs the earth on nothing. He binds up the water in His thick clouds, yet the clouds are not broken under it.”

About 4,000 years ago, through divine revelation, Job knew that the Earth was not supported by a giant turtle or rested on the shoulders of Atlas. Job here also refers to the water cycle of evaporation and condensation which forms clouds.

Elsewhere in Chapter 36, Verses 27, 28, Job talks about precipitation when he says, “For he draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man.”

There are many scientists today who take the Bible in a literal sense and use it in their studies. For more on this go to www.icr.org.

Obviously, true science and the Bible are compatible. True science and the Bible always agree.
