Don’t try testing compassion theory because it won’t work

This is in response to a letter by Jeremy Gosnell, “Most problems could be solved by practicing compassion,” Dec. 11, Times-News.

Psalm 78:38 states, But he (God) being full of compassion, forgave (sinners) their iniquity, and did not stir up all his wrath. These words of scripture like the rest are backed up by the most realistic record of all, the Bible.

The Old Testament was written around 3,500 years ago, and the new around 2,000 years. That’s long before scientists came along with their so-called facts.

The Word of God has been twisted to suit the purpose of others, but no matter what, Mr. Gosnell, the prophecies of the Bible are being fulfilled. Christians are not the only ones looking for or believing in a Messiah. Jews have everything ready in order to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem so they can anoint the Messiah and King.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes that the 12th Imam or Mahdi (Messiah) is coming soon and stated the fact in his speechs at the United Nations. According to him, the Mahdi will come when the earth is full of violence and turmoil. This is why he wants to destroy Israel with a nuclear weapon to help bring the Mahdi back.

It seems, Mr. Gosnell, that you can mock Christians, but have courage to tell Muslims that they’re waiting on some imaginary ticket to the stars for believing in their coming messiah.

I wrote in my last letter (“Better enjoy it now because it won’t last for much longer,” Dec. 3) that the increase in lawlessness or wickedness, not the election, has made the end time puzzle complete.

And this reason will cause people to murder one another for no purpose at all. That’s because they have no love for others and as a result their love grows cold.

The violent shootings at a Mall in Oregon and a school in Connecticut are evident and I’m sad to say they will not be the last until Christ rules the earth and not men.

You and others need to wipe the president and his phony Hollywood loser star friends and their lifestyle from your eyes so you can see what is going on in the world.

Like it or not, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is coming back and nothing will stop the violence in the Middle East or world until He is crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Revelation 19:16.

Mr Gosnell, if you’re thinking of testing your compassion theory in the Middle East, please don’t, because your end could come at the barrel of one of their guns.

I’m asking everyone to receive God’s gifts of mercy and eternal life by believing in his only begotten Son. You won’t regret it.

  • Remember, we’re not immune to extinction

I’d like to pose a theoretical scenario to Cal Thomas.

If a medical specialist said, “Cal, you’ve got a serious physical problem. Do nothing and you’ll die soon. Follow my prescription, which involves certain life-style changes, and there’s a good probability you’ll live, even if your life may be a bit more constrained than now.”
