Here is the answer

I have used the Holy Bible as a divine guidebook for the past 62 years and it has served me well. As for myself and family, we are as calm and happy as any family on earth could be.

Things have gone remarkably well for us and I attribute that to a good godly upbringing in a Christian home where there was strict discipline, and the Bible was daily read with prayer, and also to the fact that as a lad of 23 I found the Lord Jesus Christ as my own personal savior.

He became my good shepherd and began to guide me through His word, the Holy Bible.

Having said that, have you ever wondered why this great nation seems to be in its death throes? Man boasts of higher education, greater intellect, more technical advancement and sophistication than in bygone days.

Really? Then why are conditions constantly worsening? Why are so many people unhappy? Why is the divorce rate 52 percent? Why is there so much crime, if we are as smart as we brag to be? Why is our government at its wits end? Just what is the problem?

Ah, folks, the answer is very simple, the Bible has the answer! God says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). The word “mocked” means, “to turn up your nose at.”

In 1962 our government took prayer and the Bible out of our schools. In 2010 New York was the last state to legalize no-fault divorce. Abortion was legalized in 1973. People were horrified hearing of a few children being gassed in Syria, yet we seem oblivious to the fact that our own government has sanctioned the death of an average of 3,288 unborn infants daily in the USA.

Humanism has encouraged a permissive society and Hollywood has glamorized sex. Our government now sanctions sodomy (homosexuality). Since God’s Bible condemns all these things mentioned, and our nation has sanctioned them, we have “turned up our nose” to God.

However, we are now reaping what we have sown. We are reaping a troubled society. Our family home life is disappearing. Homes where God was reverenced and Biblical principles enforced usually produced honorable citizens, such as Abraham Lincoln, Jonathan Edwards, J.C. Penney, Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, and David Green, founder of Hobby Lobby.

These people were taught principles of honesty and integrity. On the other hand we have other types of homes, such as Max Jukes, who was born between 1720 and 1740, and lived a godless married life,

From the union there were 310 who died as paupers, 150 were criminals, seven were murderers, 100 were drunkards, and more than half of the women were prostitutes. His 540 descendants cost the State $1.25 million, according to common history reports.

Today the divorce rate is 52 percent. Why are the majority of children born out of wedlock? Because unwed mothers have never been taught the fear of God.

According to God, fornication is sin. Humanism encourages a free life style. If it feels good, do it! God has been mocked, and they are reaping the results.

God demands corporal punishment for unruly children, but liberal groups, teach that spanking is wrong, thus undisciplined children are problems to society because of their unruly behavior. Dope, sex, drunkenness, and mocking God are the norms today. Our prisons are overcrowded.

Law-abiding citizens are arming themselves for fear. Gun sales are at an all time high. We are reaping what we have sown.

  • Remember, we’re not immune to extinction

I’d like to pose a theoretical scenario to Cal Thomas.

If a medical specialist said, “Cal, you’ve got a serious physical problem. Do nothing and you’ll die soon. Follow my prescription, which involves certain life-style changes, and there’s a good probability you’ll live, even if your life may be a bit more constrained than now.”

  • Tell legislators to do what is right for America’s vets

Without our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, where would America be today? It is anyone’s guess, however certainly not the Freedom and Liberty we enjoy.

Have you noticed, in your travels, that the front end of a police cruiser usually protrudes a bit more than you would expect when the officer has it parked behind another vehicle on the side of the road?
