If this is meant to be a joke, who’s laughing at it?

While NBC and CBS both acknowledge a quote from an anonymous senior White House official labeling President Obama’s recent budget meetings with members of Congress “a joke,” I’m not laughing.

Of course it is a joke! 60 million have left the work force; First time unemployment claims never been less than 334,000 per week, $85 billion printed every month feeding Wall Street government security traders, gas prices rising, and the White House stages a phony cosmetic “reaching across the aisle” event.

Staff members know that Mr Obama does not intend to compromise. The House has passed numerous bills, none of which can reach the floor of the Senate.

The House indicated it would sponsor a bill that requires the Senate to produce the first budget ever, after four years without one or there will be a suspension of pay. Wow that’s great. What an innovation.

That’s not new to us however. The rest of us don’t get paid if we don’t do our jobs.  The economy of the United States is the world’s largest national economy. Its Gross Domestic Product was estimated to be $15.8 trillion in 2012. That has been encompassed by a nearly $17 trillion deficit.

Funny, right? 142 million employed with a total estimated population of 317 million mouths to feed. Out of 129 million federal tax filers, 79 million are net federal tax payers after returns are filed.

Although the base line budgeting allows the President to spend what he did the year before with an average 5 percent increase, He wants to pretend he has a cuts to make! The sequester is reduction of 2 percent meaning the president has his previous years spending with a net 3 percent increase.

The White House, who owns the press, will make cuts and the media will blame the Republican House. True to Alinsky, let’s not let an opportunity go by to demonize your opposition.

I guess the $7 million a minute deficit increase gets no more attention than the “check engine” light on a used Volkswagen!

So we have 12 pounds of ticks on a 20-pound dog. And the dog is not doing its fair share. The dog needs to do more. Well, what if the dog just rolls over?

ABC managed to leave the controversial remark out of its coverage of the budget negotiations, with Good Morning America’s slobbering host George Stephanopoulos even failing to ask the President about it in an exclusive interview.

In a National Journal article, Ron Fournier recounted: “ ‘This is a joke. We’re wasting the president’s time and ours,’ complained a senior White House official who was promised anonymity so he could speak frankly. ‘I hope you all (in the media) are happy because we’re doing it for you.’”

Of course it is for media consumption. The president is trying so hard but the Republicans who hate everyone, women, children, old people, will not budge. There’s your story now run with it.

Meanwhile there’s an emergency vacation to plan. Maybe the president can break Arnold Palmer’s lifetime record for complete rounds of golf.

This is a joke, Mr. Fournier? Who’s laughing?
