To the Editor:
I want to express a sincere “Thank you!” for all the hard work of bringing top rated acts to Allegany County. Your continuing work gives not only me, but, the tri-state area a chance to see and hear all the sounds that we grew up with.
I can only imagine the work of inviting a venue, agreeing to the cost, transportation and lodging and these must be just the tip of the “iceberg”.
Also, I want to thank the sponsors and I do visit these establishment’s for the services they offer.
Last Saturday night’s performance with Tony Orlando and his group was simply, “Awesome!” I hope they are invited back in the future!
To attend these concerts and listen, see, and most of all, enjoy true talent is so appreciative! Most of all, it’s live and in a community called, Cumberland!
Again, thanks to all of you who make this possible.

It shouldn’t take a study to figure out what city needs
Another study on what to do with Cumberland? (“City’s economic consultants unveil good, bad at study update,” June 26 Times-News, Page 1A)
It might not be a problem, but a possibility
God certainly orchestrates circumstances that cause us to marvel. The recent flood In Cresaptown that Calvary Baptist Church/School endured is proving to be yet another miracle birthed out of devastation.
Look to the Jubilee solution to resolve our economic woes
Following the Lehman banking debacle of 2008, the government sponsored bailout of the banking sector to boost the economy created an illusion of recovery.
