Linking Social Security to CPI cuts funds for seniors

To the Editor:

— Congress should not tie Social Security to the Consumer Price Index, the chained CPI.

That would cut payments to unsustainable level. Seniors and people with disability can’t afford the cuts.

They will not be able to afford their medicines and other life necessities. They do not want to spend their declining years in a hospital or nursing homes because they can’t afford their medicines or food.

Congress should respect their dignity.
