To the Editor:
I have a question for everyone and that is, why are some trying to take Christ out of Christmas from one year to the next?
Nowhere in the Bible was it mentioned that Jesus was born on Dec. 25 and that we are to honor His birth.
But Christmas has been a tradition for many years and has brought joy and happiness to millions of people.
I don’t care if someone says to me, “Happy holidays” or “Merry Christmas,” but telling store employees and school children not to say, “Merry Christmas” is asinine.
Politically correct politicians tell their employees to put up the holiday tree and holiday decorations, but other than Christmas what is the name of the holiday that’s being celebrated?
I don’t know when Christmas began or who started it, but I believe that it honors the birth of God’s greatest gift to mankind and that was his only begotten Son, Jesus.
Now some can try to eliminate Christ from Christmas, but that will never take away the meaning of the day and the eternal gift of life that God gave the world on a night 2,000 years ago.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
