Some fire department letters sent to the wrong addresses

CUMBERLAND — The 2013 annual New Creek, W.Va., Volunteer Fire Department letter drive has been sent out.

 Unfortunately some of the letters have been sent to the wrong areas. Only residents within New Creek’s first due responding area should have received the letters.

The mixup has occurred at the Post Office level.

Each year, the department creates an updated letter which is placed into an envelope with the departments return address on it.

Postage is paid for all letters by the department. There are no addresses printed on the envelope, due to the postal service ensuring that delivery will be made to all appropriate areas.

The “first due” boundaries of the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department are as follows:

Route 220 from (and including) Valley View Road south to Route 93 to the Grant County line;

Route 50 from the top of Knobley Mountain to the first set of three lanes on Route 50 west towards Elk Garden;

All of Hooker Hollow Road, Graysons Gap and Penneroil Road.

For a more detailed description of the boundaries and areas, please see the fire department’s Facebook page or official website — http://www.nc38fd.com

If you have received a letter by mistake, please disregard it. The membership of the New Creek VFD apologizes for the mistake. Fire department officers will be in contact again with the postal service to address this mistake.

If anyone would have any questions, please forward any to Chief Dustin Amtower or President Eddie Amtower, at the fire department.
