To the Editor:
One in five American families is on food stamps. One in every 6.5 Americans currently receives food stamps. More than 13,000 people each day enroll in SNAP.
Enrollment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has soared 70 percent since 2008 to a record 47.8 million as of December 2012.
In 2012 alone, the Obama-Administration doled out $80 billion with absolutely no end in sight with no budget parameters.
In fact, President Obama’s budget submitted late, received no votes at all. With five years without a budget, how does one know what to cut?
According to a new report by the nonpartisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI), President Barack Obama has spent over twice as many hours on vacation and golf (976 hours) as he has in economic meetings of any kind (474.4 hours). He plays more golf than most members of the PGA.
The president espouses class warfare and claims Congress isn’t working. But that’s another story.
In the past, people are not eligible for SNAP food stamps if they are undocumented or illegal noncitizens, or noncitizens with undetermined status.
However under the current administrations’ Department of Agriculture, and via the Mexican government, assures potentially ineligible immigrants that they can still apply for food stamps on behalf of their eligible children without giving information about their immigration status.
Judicial Watch obtained the Spanish-language flyers through a Freedom of Information Act filing.
A USDA produced Spanish language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy, according to Judicial Watch, reads that if potentially ineligible immigrants want to obtain benefits for their children they “need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”
The agency’s most recent outreach efforts to increase food stamp participation targets California and Texas and parts of Mexico itself with radio ads. The ads have been running since March and are scheduled to continue through the end of June, at a cost of $2.5 million to $3 million.
Here’s part of the script that is used to get the public actively involved in increasing participation in food stamps!
“Throw a Great Party. Host social events where people mix and mingle,” the agency advises. “Make it fun by having activities, games, food, and entertainment, and provide information about SNAP. Putting SNAP information in a game format like BINGO, crossword puzzles, or even a ‘true/false’ quiz is fun and helps get your message across in a memorable way.”
President Obama is unwilling to acknowledge government spending is completely out of control.
Over the last five years, annual outlays are up by $1 trillion, three times the amount required by inflation, and tax revenues are short because high rates and burdensome regulations are choking economic growth and jobs creation.
Instead, the president threatens America with the dire scenario of furloughed meat inspectors, food shortages and streets without police.
His cabinet secretaries threaten three hour waits in airport security lines, reduced embassy protection and border patrols. The list goes on and on.
Meanwhile, his party continues advocacy for no voter IDs, the right of non-citizens to sit on juries, non-disclosure of citizenship on SNAP applications and amnesty. What a way to expand your voter base with publicly financed monies.
Presto! 12 million “undocumented Democrats “just like that! Or should it be said “It’s a SNAP!”
