Housing project will have bad effect on property in this area

CUMBERLAND — I am writing to you to voice my opposition to a low income housing project that has been proposed for construction on a tract of land on Pine Swamp Road in Mineral County, W.Va. I am a registered voter and resident of Mineral County and live in the New Creek/Pine Swamp area.

I am concerned about the negative effect that low income housing will have on my property value as well as the decline of quality of life in my neighborhood.

The other low income housing units in Mineral County serve as an example of the negative effects that they can have on a community.

I am concerned for the increase in crime and destruction that these types of low income housing projects produce. I do not approve of nor agree to my tax money being used for this type of project.

I would also be willing to explore participating in a law suit with my fellow neighbors to fight this project in court.

Brian Kerling

Keyser, W.Va.
