— I would like to personally thank all of the Frostburg State University students who attended the Campus and Community Dialogue Series on Oct. 8 at the Lyric Theatre Frostburg.

As a person who has been born and raised in Frostburg, it did my heart good to see so many enthusiastic students come out and take active roles in building our community.

I was also in awe of the impressive number of students that said they do not appreciate the often unfair stigma that FSU is nothing more than a “party school.” These students set an amazing example of a desired and more appropriate image of student and college life at the Frostburg campus.

I was overwhelmed by the passion and pride the students have for their community and their college. I look forward to working with these students and I wholeheartedly encourage more community members to take part in the next dialogues at the Community Center on Nov. 1.

Together we can do good for the community and showcase more of FSU’s outstanding students.
