To the Editor:
I am writing to express my thoughts about Halloween.
What ever happened to Trick or Treating on Halloween night? When I was growing up back in the 1950s and 60s Halloween night was a night for Trick or Treat.
That meant everyone got all dressed up and went door to door Trick or Treating in your home town.
Now Trick or Treating is five or six nights the whole week of Halloween every where and any where your parents will drive you.
I live in the Mount Savage area and we had between 230 to 240 kids in a two-hour time period.
Everyone was asking all week before when and what time is Halloween?
We kind of took it upon ourselves here on the hill to post a time for the night and we have always went on Halloween night.
My question is “Why is there any question?” It should be Halloween night from 5 to 7 p.m. or so.
I know some people will say but the church or something else is having something that night or that time. So make a choice one or the other. Just how much candy does one child need?
My thought is Trick or Treat on Halloween night in your own neighborhood.
