We needed to have ‘change’ but this isn’t it

They want us to become drones.  Government knows what’s best for you.

Affordable Health Care Act, now if that is not an oxymoron, I do not know what is. And the creators preach how good the plan is for 95 percent of us.

Just 5 percent (10 to 12 million) will be paying more, which happen to be some of the people who take personal responsibility and bought their own insurance that they were happy with and had coverage they choose!

We are at the tip of this mess and I think as this unfolds and we near the end of 2014 when the employers one-year “time out” has expired, the uproar will be loud.

Was this delay’s purpose that employees (voters ) will not realize the full impact of Obama Care until after the elections?

And if your employer elects to offer the new coverage, that will bring cost increases to the employer, do not think it will not affect you. Those cost increases will be passed on in some form to the consumer/employee.

Unless you are of the mindset that the government (who makes up the government?) will pay for it ... it”s free! The “Land of Oz,” Dorothy will pay for it.

It has become a standard when our “leaders” lie, that it is “just politics,” sends a nice message to our children which happen to be the future generation.

The current “chief” in the White House and his “followers” have misspoken or “that is not what I meant to say” to a new level.

Does anyone remember the “promises” of transparency, change Washington Politics and reading a bill before it has been voted upon? The arrogance in Washington has risen to the height of the ozone.

If you like the “change” we now have and like others thinking for you and deciding what is best for you. Then continue the current path the King has laid out for his serfs.

We do need “change” and it needs to come from both sides of the isle. Exercise your right to term limits by voting. Maryland has its share of career politicians who forgot who they are suppose to serve and work for. Spend some time away from social media and one sided viewpoints

The Affordable Health Care act is all about control, along with many other government programs ... i.e. “Patriot Act” ...sounds noble and good? Monitor phone conversations, emails?

Definition of a drone: drone 1 (dr

1. A male bee, especially a honeybee, that is characteristically stingless, performs no work, and produces no honey. Its only function is to mate with the queen bee.

2. An idle person who lives off others; a loafer.

3. A person who does tedious or menial work; a drudge: “undervalued drones who labored in obscurity” (Caroline Bates).

4. A pilotless aircraft operated by remote control.

Can anyone see the parallel of a drone, to the vision of today’s big government?

  • President and Obamacare: Who needs Congress?

Being a fellow from a small town like Cumberland I don’t always really understand what’s going on in Washington. But I have watched a few houses being built over the years. I even helped some with one house, but my brother fired me from that work pretty quickly, mainly because it was his house being built.

  • It’s a secret It’s a secret

Could someone enlighten us about why not even the names of the two entities bidding on development of the Footer Dye Works building can be divulged?
A Times-News article about the bids included an explanation from a lawyer for the attorney general’s office about the need to keep the names and other information secret at this time. Despite that, the logic of not divulging at least a little more information escapes us.
