Inmates of the Western Correctional Institution completed improvements to the gymnasium floor at the Salvation Army facility in Cumberland recently. The project began after Maj. Mike Thomas, the dayshift commander at Western Correctional Institution, visited and noticed the condition of the floor. The improvements were not affordable for the Salvation Army and would not have been possible without the WCI prisoners’ community project directed by WCI Supervisor Bill Jewell.
